AI for Engineering Consultancies

Turn fee proposals around in hours, not days

AI drafts fee letters from your past proposals, orchestrates drawing-register updates and RFI cycles, and keeps NCC-compliant project documentation flowing. Chartered engineers stay on the calls and the calcs, not the admin.

The problem

Where engineering consultancies businesses leak time and money.

Pain point 01

Fee-proposal turnaround takes days

Each scope email needs a chartered engineer to pull past comparable proposals, draft scope and assumptions, set a fee, format the letter and send. Three to five working days while the client talks to two other consultancies.

Pain point 02

Drawing-register coordination is full-time admin

Every IFC, IFT and IFA revision needs distributing to contractors and updating in Aconex or ProjectWise. Miss a revision and a contractor builds off the wrong drawing. The admin load grows with project count.

Pain point 03

RFI and RFP responses pile up

Contractors fire RFIs daily during construction phase. Each needs a chartered-engineer response. Without orchestration the principal becomes the bottleneck and project schedules slip.

Pain point 04

Compliance documentation never feels complete

NCC-compliant inspection reports, certificates, design statements and PI-insurance evidence packs each need assembly per project. The work is repetitive but high-stakes; the team does it manually because the risk of getting it wrong is unacceptable.

How it works

From enquiry to handled.

Each step runs automatically so your team focuses on the work that matters.

Step 01

Fee proposals drafted from past comparables

The agent reads the scope email, classifies the project type and discipline, pulls matching past proposals from your archive, drafts a fee letter in your template with scope, assumptions and exclusions, and routes to the chartered engineer for review before send.

Step 02

Drawing register kept current automatically

Revisions flagged from CAD or BIM trigger register updates, contractor distribution and acknowledgement tracking. RFI dispatch and response collation routed to the right discipline lead. Nothing slips between revisions.

Step 03

RFI and RFP cycles orchestrated, not chased

Inbound RFIs classified by discipline, routed to the right engineer with the relevant drawing references already attached. Status visible in real time. The principal reviews drafts instead of fielding chase emails.

Step 04

Compliance packs assembled per project

Inspection reports, design statements, NCC checklists and PI-insurance evidence assembled into a project pack on a schedule. The chartered engineer reviews and signs; the agent does the assembly. Nothing about a calc, load, or safety-of-life judgement is automated.

FAQ

Common questions from engineering consultancies.

No. Any work that touches a load, a wind calc, a soil-bearing number or a safety-of-life judgement stays with a chartered engineer (CPEng or RPEQ) under PI insurance. The agent does admin, drafting, routing and documentation. The line is hard, drilled into every build.

AutoCAD and Revit via local file watchers and Autodesk Platform Services (formerly Forge / BIM 360), Bluebeam Studio via API, Aconex via their REST API, Procore via API, ProjectWise via their connector. We map the integration surface during the audit because every consultancy has a slightly different stack.

Anything that touches a calculation, design opinion or sign-off remains under a chartered engineer's PI scope. The agent works at the documentation and orchestration layer where PI risk is minimal. We brief the consultancy's PI broker during the audit so the underwriter has full visibility.

Most consultancies have fee-proposal automation and RFI orchestration live within 4 to 6 weeks of the paid audit. Drawing-register integration is project-by-project depending on the platform. Compliance pack assembly is usually the final piece because it requires the most chartered-engineer review.

Engagement starts with a fixed-fee Audit (three weeks), then a Pilot quoted from your audit (four to eight weeks), and an ongoing tiered monthly retainer once the system is live. Pricing is confirmed on your qualification call. We model payback during the audit based on chartered-engineer time recovered and project throughput.
